During festive season most of Birštonas resort guests were Lithuanians. It has been observed that significant part of vacationers arrived from Germany. The number of the Germans was higher than of Russian tourists who kept arriving even after New Year. During festive season (December 24th, 2015 – January 3rd, 2016) Birštonas resort accommodated tourists from Lithuania, Germany, Russia, Latvia, the Netherlands, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Belarus, Canada, Estonia, Great Britain, Israel, Japan, Slovakia, Ukraine, Poland, and the Philippines.

According to representatives of the largest Birštonas Medical SPAs, number of guests who book accommodation with treatment package increases. Also, guests often go for additional SPA treatments which are not included into their package. The most popular services are special treatment programs, health care programs, body care treatments, and swimming pool / sauna complex.

On New Year’s night Birštonas resort hotels and Medical SPAs offered their Lithuanian and foreign guests special programs in Lithuanian, Russian and English languages. Guests of Birštonas resort could choose for New Year‘s night: dancing in waltz rythms, enjoying live music, watching magicians’ show or listening to live DJs set.

“We have observed the tendency that tourists tend to plan their vacations well ahead. That is why it was quite complicated to book a room just a few weeks before New Year. We are happy when we can heed the wishes of tourists and offer the best suitable leisure activity”, said Ruta Kapačinskaitė, Birštonas Tourism Information Centre Director.

After the festive season, flow of tourists slightly decreased.  According to representative of Medical SPA “Eglė”, kids‘ spa package were popular due to school break. Most of guests used services of children‘s playroom and went for treatments which are specifically meant for kids. Representative of “Royal SPA Residence” has mentioned that family vacation at the resort became more popular; larger number of guests show interest in movies being screened in theater and leisure activities for the whole family.
