Birštonas has long traditions in organizing various events, especially hot-air ballooning ones. As a result, Birštonas Ballooning Festival is the oldest traditional festival in Lithuania. On 4-10 July 2016 Birštonas is welcoming the 2nd FAI Women‘s World Hot Air Balloon Championship, gathering more than 80 best women pilots from all over the world.
